Since 2009, Dr. Scott Chamberland has provided customized quality Optometric care in the Middle Tennessee area. After moving to Tennessee with is family in 1992, Scott graduated with honors from Battle Ground Academy in Franklin , TN in 1996. He then attended the University of Tennessee- Knoxville and earned his bachelor’s degree in Microbiology in 2000. In 2008, Dr Chamberland attained his Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry (NECO) in Boston, Massachusetts. At NECO, he served as Class President and a student member of the NECO Alumni Board. His clinical training included primary care, ocular disease, specialty contact lens, low vision, and pediatrics.
For his clinical rotations, he worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital Metro Boston Campuses; Martha Eliot Community Health Center, New England Children’s Hospital, Boston Medical Center, and at a MD/OD private practice in Atlanta, Georgia. After graduation, Dr Chamberland joined a private practice in the Virginia Beach, Virginia area but then decided to return to practice in the Middle Tennessee area in 2009, where he has practiced for the past 11 years. He is a member of the Tennessee Optometric Physicians Association, American Optometric Association and just completed a two year term as a regional representative on the New England College of Optometry Alumni Board. Dr. Chamberland has participated in several domestic and international mission trips providing eye care to such organizations Remote Access Medical (RAM), Prevent Blindness Tennessee, and Nashville Homeless Coalition. In 2019, Dr Chamberland was selected to participate in Essilor’s Vision Foundation Mission trip to St Maarten where along side other Optometrists and ancillary staff provided over 1000 eye exams to the local school children of the island. He’s an avid traveler and sports fan- Tennessee Volunteers and Nashville Predator’s - and also enjoys hiking and kayaking in his free time.
